Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 本作的故事背景设定在日本经济高速增长期 —— 彼时东京奥运会、大阪世博会接连举办，社会处处洋溢着繁荣的气息。在社会迈向国际化、卖淫管控力度不断加强的背景下，为清除接受过性别重置手术、通称 “蓝男孩”的群体，检方决定逮捕为他们实施手术的医生赤城昌雄。 　　与此同时，在东京一家咖啡馆担任女服务员的沙纪，刚收到恋人的求婚，正沉浸在幸福之中。直到某天，负责在法庭上为赤城辩护的律师狩野卓找到了沙纪，请求她以 “接受过性别重置手术者” 的身份出庭作证。

保姆叶晓霖（万茜 饰）伪装进入老人家庭图谋行凶，因与饲养员马德勇（饶晓志 饰）的相遇打破了原有生活平衡，警察周平（屈楚萧 饰）在追查案件中与他们的命运交织。
